New Knot Award For Adult Scouters

Due to the unrelenting demand, the final requirements for the much anticipated (but so far little celebrated) Figure 8 Knot award are hereby released.

The Figure 8 knot is commonly used is both mountain climbing and sailing. It provides a “strong joining knot” for two ropes and is most often used in sailing to secure a line through a grommet used to “pull” or raise a sail.

If you choose to earn the Figure 8 Knot, you will learn the requirements that scouts must demonstrate to achieve the rank of first class. You will have the skills required to be comfortable in the outdoors and at the same time set a positive example for the scouts as they move toward their advancement goals.
