New Training Available On-Line
This is Scouting was added to the BSA's on-line Learning Center at www.olc.scouting.org and www.MyScouting.org . This is Scouting replaces New Leader Essentials as a required course for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing volunteers to earn the "Trained" leader emblem.

March 24 Parent's Meeting Cancelled
The Parent's Meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday March 24 has been postponed to a future date.
2009/03/03 Weekend at Camp Lewis
Troop 108 spent a beautiful March weekend at Camp Lewis in Hibernia, NJ.
This was the first overnight for the new scouts in the Ram Patrol. Troop activities focused around the theme of athletic competition. According to eyewitnesses, SPL Andrew and ASPL Ryan led the scouts in games of soccer, flag football, noodle battles(?), and capture the flag. The troop also paid its respects at a small Civil War cemetery in the camp.

The Trail to Eagle begins with a single step. All of you have taken the first step on that trail when you joined the Troop. The path ahead is filled with excitement and challenges. It will be hard at times, but the Troop will be there to support you and guide you on your journey.

2009/02/13 Ice Fishing at Camp Winnebago
The men of Troop 108 spent most of Valentine's Day fishing on the frozen lake at Camp Winnebago. Special guests included Mr. Keane's childhood friend Joe and Mr. Keane's father. The ice was about seven inches thick, and the below-freezing temperature kept it that way!
2009/02/08 - Scout Sunday
Troop 108 joined with Pack 108 and Crew 108 to observe Scout Sunday today. Scouts from each OLV scouting unit participated in the 10:00 Mass as altar servers, readers, and gift bearers. Scouts that earned religious awards over the past year were presented with their Light Of Christ, Parvuli Dei, International Awareness, or Venturing Bronze medals. The OLV scouts hosted light refreshments after Mass. And one last thing: there was a big cake to celebrate last month's Klondike Derby sweep!
Order of the Arrow Elections
Troop 108 will be having its annual Order of the Arrow (OA) elections this Tuesday, February 3. All scouts registered in the troop should attend the meeting and participate in these elections.
Eligibility for OA membership requires a rank of at least First Class and 15 nights of camping, of which at least 6 nights are long term camping. Scouts with these credentials can be considered for election.
2009/01/25 Paterson Diocese Scout Sunday
Scouts from Our Lady of the Valley played key support roles at the 66th Boy Scout Sunday Mass, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson. Representatives from Pack 108 and Troop 108 served as readers and alter servers.
The Pope Paul VI National Unit Award was again presented to Troop 108. This award, awarded annually in the diocese since 1974, recognizes Catholic chartered units that provide a quality program encompassing religious and educational aspects.
